man John PIERCE‏‎
Born ‎± 1600‎
John made the journey either on the JOHN & DOROTHY of Ipswich or the ROSE of Yarmouth, with WILLIAM ANDREWS and his son, WILLIAM ANDREWS, HR., the respective maters, sailed from Ipswich, England and arrived at Boston, Massachusetts, 8 June 1637. With
his family he brought John Gedney aged 19, their servant. John PIERCE became a Freeman of the Bay Colony in March 1637-38, as John "PEARCE." In 1652, as a resident of Watertown, Massachusetts, he took the oath of fidelity there. He owned a
considerable amount of property in Watertown, as there are at least six entries detailing lands and property owned by "John Perse." John Pierce was an original proprietor of Lancaster, but he never lived there. On October 24, 1654, "John Perse the
Dromer" was paid for his services, evidently in the training band in Watertown.
