City Directory shows George W. Honey in 1891 at 1015 T. Northwest, Clerk in the General Land Office. Military records show he enlisted June 11, 1863 as a Private in Company C, 4th Cavalary Regiment, Wisconsin. Promoted to full Chaplain on May 24, 1864 and reenlisted as a Chapalin and Commissioned offer in Company S, 4th Cavalry Regiment, Wisconsin. Mustered out on May 28, 1866. Married ± 1854 (approximately 25 years married) to: Levina Marietta ORDWAY Born 1832 New York, died 30 Dec 1879 Sante Fe,New Mexico, 46 or 47 years Child: 1. Ida Estelle HONEYBorn 28 Aug 1858 Town Of Two Rivers,Manitowoc Co., WI, died 13 Apr 1942 Chanute,Neosho Co., KS, 83 years Notes Letter from daughter Ruth to William D. Goss indicated her mother, Ida Estelle was born in Rochester, NY. Census of June 1860 indicates her father and mother and one brother were resident in the Town of Two Rivers, Manitowac, Wisconsin. Census indicates Ida's birth place as Wisconsin. She is only one and half years old at the time of the census. |
